The North Arm bridge required a 100 meter extension to the downstream end to Mitchell Island.

Dredging of the lakebed sediments to facilitate construction of the water retention dyke of the A-418 Pit (approx. 1.2 km). The portable cutter suction Dredge "FRPD Explorer" was trucked to the site over winter ice roads in February, March 2005. Dredging was started in July and completed on time in early September. Pump dredge slurry 4.5 km to sediment storage site. In February, March 2006 the dredge will be returned to New Westminster where it will be refurbished for our next project.

New construction included installation of steel pipe piles, cast-in-place pier caps, abutment and pivot structure, pre-cast girders, access walkways and crane rail. Project performed in two - 2 month phases, one in the fall of 2004 and the second in the fall of 2005.

FRPD was selected as the Marine Contractor for the removal of 54,600 cubic meters of PCB contaminated marine sediments from Porpoise Bay, at the Skeena Mill Site. The project includes the installation and maintenance of a fish exclusion system, oil boom containment system and a dredge turbidity containment system for the duration of the marine works. The dredge method selected was barge mounted auger dredge (DOP 2320). This system is supported by a conventional clamshell Derrick for positioning and obstruction removal. Project started in July 2004 and completed in March 2005.

Remediation at 8335 Meadow Avenue
FRPD was selected as the marine contractor for the construction of a permanent inshore and offshore sheet pile containment system made from 296 pair of modified AZ26 sheet piles. The project includes the construction of a new sheet pile structure with a total of 136 pair of AZ26, AZ36, and AZ48 sheet piles all fabricated and sealed using the Sevenson seal system. The sealed sheet pile containment system also required the installation of a engineered cap and the construction of a new intertidal marsh habitat area. Outside of the cap area FRPD will remove an estimated 9118 cubic meters of contaminated river sediments from six cell locations and the installation of an estimated 1000 submarine densification piles. Project was started in February 2002 and completed in September 2003.

Shiploader Demolition and Reinstallation
In December 2002 the 2 ship loaders in Berth No. 2 at Westshore Terminals were extensively damaged by a freak wind storm. FRPD crews and equipment were quickly mobilized to stabilize the damaged shiploaders and secure the site.
In January 2003, FRPD worked with the Owners, Consultants, and Shiploader Supplier to re-install the shiploaders in a safe and efficient program. The new system was opened in July 2003.

• Construction of four large cofferdams for these in river piers.
• Construction of a 450m long, 10m wide access trestle support on pipe piles.
• Dredge to aid in pier construction.
• Installation of approximately 6,000 timber densification piles.
• Construction of several overpasses in conjunction with our Joint Venture partners Kingston and Bel Construction.
